Never mind for the moment. All kinds of stability/RAM issues to work out, and I don't know what's to blame. Is it the RAM? Is it the motherboard? Do I have a bad processor? Will it rain tomorrow? Will I get laid this week? Tune in next time for another exciting episode of Nate Builds a Computer!

I'm kinda getting a new computer in a week or so, then a real one probably next month.
Xoom Tablet has been purchased, just waiting to get it, and next month/month after (depending on some personal things...) some new innards for my desktop, since it fried itself a while ago.

Why 12gig DDR3? Wouldn't it be 8, or 16? I wasn't aware that AMD supported triple-channel setups...

Oh, then I may need to change the memory setup... Like I said, won't have that for another month or so (but this laptop is lagging on minecraft with the "fast" graphics setting.

Heh. Well, it's Java, so it outputs using OpenGL. Embedded graphics + OpenGL? Fail. Hell, laptop + Java? Fail.
But yeah, enjoy your computer. Go for the 1600MHz DDR3, man, that shit is awesome.
Plus, my (very, very similar) motherboard has proven to work well so far. The layout's alright, the BIOS is alright to work in... Just note that you'll want to update the BIOS almost first thing. There's a utility for that on the ASUS website.

Also, I love freakin' virtualization extensions. They are made of win. I can boot my Linux install from inside Windows, and it works wonderfully. I can keep it updated all the time without having to boot to it, and I've got enough processor power and RAM that I can do it with BC2 on max settings. Awesome.

Not to mention this one was purchased just to get me through my deployment. The Xoom is going to have specs that are a little better. Which makes me wonder, would I be able to play minecraft on my Xoom... Wonder if they would let me port it to Android 3, or atleast attempt to...

Does the Xoom do Java inside a browser? If so, then it probably already works.

Android is Java, so I don't see why not. Worse case, I can grab source code for Minecraft and port it, though I probably need the desktop before I start doing real coding.

Except Minecraft isn't _really_ open-source. You can extract the source from the .jar files, but it's been obfuscated all to hell, so have fun figuring it out.
